A powerful and useful message

Sometimes we get sick because we believe on an unconscious level that illness is an appropriate or inevitable response to a situation or circumstance. In some way, it seems to solve a problem for us, give us something we need, or is a solution to an unresolved and unbearable inner conflict.

Rather than thinking of illness as disaster, we can think of it as a powerful and useful message. If we are suffering, it is a message that there is something to be looked at within our consciousness, something to be recognized, acknowledged, and healed. It may indicate that there is something about the way we are living that needs to be changed in order for us to be emotionally healthier.

Healing negative beliefs

Here is a powerful method to discover and begin healing your unconscious negative beliefs. Sit silently and get in touch with a particular problem. Using a pencil and paper, describe the problem. Ask yourself these questions:
1) What emotions am I feeling?
2) What physical sensations am I feeling?
3) What old tapes or old programming am I running in my head?
4) What is the worst thing that could happen in this situation?
5) What is the best thing that could happen? 6) What fear or negative belief is keeping me from creating what I want in this situation?
7) Create an affirmation to counteract and heal the negative belief. For example, if the old belief is “I don’t deserve to have what I want,” the affirmation could be “I deserve to be happy.”

I release old beliefs and create new, supportive ones.
