Continue to work out the process of affirmation and visualization until you reach your goal, or no longer have the desire to do so. If you lose interest, it may mean that it is time for a new look at what you want. If you find that a goal has changed for you, be sure to acknowledge that to yourself. This helps you avoid getting confused or feeling like you´ve failed when you have simply changed. Be willing to flow with the moment. It is easier to be clear about your desire if you are willing to change as your life changes around you.

A daily endeavor

If possible, use creative visualization and affirmations a little each day, even if only for five minutes. It is especially good to do creative visualization at night just before sleeping or in the morning just after awakening because at those times the mind and body are often already deeply relaxed and receptive. A short period of meditation and creative visualization done at midday will relax and renew you and will cause your day to flow more smoothly.

Resistance to change

You may feel emotional resistance to any affirmation when you first use it, especially one that is really powerful for you and is going to make a real change in your consciousness. This is simply our initial resistance to change and growth. If doubts or contradicting thoughts arise, don’t resist them or try to prevent them. This will tend to give them a power they don’t otherwise have. Just let your doubts flow through your consciousness and then return to your positive statements and images.

When we create something, we always create it first in thought form. An artist first has an idea or inspiration, then creates a painting. The idea is like a blueprint. Letting go

Let us imagine that life is a river. Most people are clinging to the bank, afraid to let go, and risk being carried along by the current of the river. When the pain of hanging on becomes greater than the fear of letting go, we let go, and the river begins to carry us along safely. Once we are used to being in the flow of the river, we can begin to look ahead and guide our course. We choose which of the many branches of the river we prefer to follow, all the while still going with the flow. We can enjoy being here now, flowing with what is, and at the same time, guide ourselves consciously toward our goals by taking full responsibility for creating our own lives.
